Metis offers several solutions for anchoring retaining walls. The right solution depends on the project. Factors to consider here are the length and depth of the sheet pile wall, the soil situation, and whether the sheet pile wall is a temporary or permanent.

Self drilling hollow anchor bar is a hollow, thick-walled, central drilling rod with a drill bit at the top. The hollow rod and the drill bit allow flushing or simultaneous drilling and grouting. The system is modular, meaning that the most appropriate configuration can be put together to suit on-site circumstances and the forces that apply. Because of the coarse external trapezium shape tread the rod can be shortened or extended if necessary, to create the desired length. The trapezium shape tread also ensures optimum adhesion between the cement grout and the self drilling anchor. All parts of the system can be supplied with or without surface treatment.

Comprised of the hollow anchor bar, drill bit and other fittings, the Self-drilling Anchor can enable the hole drilling and grouting to be done in one single cycle. It can eliminate the use of a casing to support the drilled hole which is easy to collapse and offer higher rates of installation than the regular rock bolts. The Self-drilling Anchor is used for rock bolting and grouting in softer rocks where there is loose ground or sections prone to collapse. Hollow bar anchors are created from steel tubing, and are installed in micropiles or piers to provide additional strength and support.
